Lynn Hazim, a Beirut native, food enthusiast, and host of the popular culinary blog “No Soup For You,” has crafted a witty and charming project that plays on the well-known stereotype of the perpetually overlooked middle child. Indeed, Hazim is the middle sister in her own family, though she certainly has no reason to complain about a lack of attention or recognition for her achievements.

Her Dubai debut as a restaurateur and chef is proof of that. Middle Child—a cozy establishment with a communal table and an open kitchen serving simple yet far-from-boring, home-style food inspired by seasonal produce and beloved cookbooks—has become one of the most anticipated and successful openings of 2025 in the Alserkal Avenue cultural cluster. The menu ranges from caponata and pasta to cheesecakes and banoffee pie.
