Bar Himitsu

Japan-inspired and designed to resemble a refined izakaya, this speakeasy bar is located in downtown Dubai, hidden behind Alba pan-Asian cuisine restaurant at Dubai Opera Plaza. To find it, look for the large white door concealed by a heavy red velvet curtain. This unique venue is a creation of the Metafoodies group, which also owns Alba. The name “Himitsu” translates from Japanese as “secret,” perfectly fitting the bar’s vibe.

The menu is presented as a wooden cryptex brainteaser, allowing guests to craft their own original cocktails, with up to 1,200 possible combinations. Additionally, the bar offers a special alcohol omakase experience. The place is veiled in a mystic semi-darkness. Himitsu operates from Thursday to Sunday, opening at 7 pm and continuing late into the night. Reservations are required.
