Coffee Shop Onda

A cheerful urban coffee house at the Canal House complex at Al Wasl Road, a stone’s through from the popular Dar Wasl community. A vibrant, very Madrid-like Mid Century Modern interiors, a lively atmosphere (onda in Spanish means “wave” or “vibration”), and an inventive menu with lots of interesting healthy options, including fruit-and-berry smoothies with collagen, Peruvian maca and cordyceps. Onda’s kitchen is run by a young and talented New Zealand native Jesse Blake, who over the last 10 years has launched several successful projects, including Lowe and Eye Heart Rabbit restaurants in Dubai. The best entries of the debut menu are the Spanish tortilla with truffles, Manchego cheese and smoked turkey between burger buns, sando sandwich with raw tuna and pickles, and buckwheat waffles with chocolate mousse, mandarin orange, and maple syrup.
