Tasca

Beach vibes (the restaurant is located on the sixth floor of the Mandarin Oriental Jumeira hotel) and a rare seafood menu from the heavyweight of Portuguese gastronomy José Avillez. Avillez serves calamari with kimchi, beef with truffles, and presents tartare in waffle cones as if it was an ice cream. Such tricks go along with more traditional fare: the menu offers the tender fried octopus, the fiery piri-piri chicken, bacalhau, and such convincing blue lobster cataplana stew that you’d be forgiven for thinking that you are somewhere in the Atlantic. On the weekends, the restaurant serves grandiose brunches where you can try almost all the menu.
One more – super important – feature is a small balcony where you can sit for hours with a bottle of champagne and possibly the best view of the Skyline.
