Moonrise

A tiny chef’s table with a dozen seats located on the rooftop of the fashionable residential complex Eden House. The smiling chef Solemann Haddad has French and Syrian roots but grew up in Dubai, and his flamboyant set does an excellent job of conveying the city’s multicultural atmosphere. Vague beef and scallops come from Japan, spices are from Syria, and the technique is French. The restaurant’s main hit – ravioli with lobsters and jalapeño – is a downright reference to Dubai’s gastro scene of 1990s when the food courts were full of Italian, not Chinese, joints.
